Welcome to Paulk Vineyards, the largest muscadine vineyard in the world! Six generations of the Paulk family have farmed this land, from traditional row crops (cotton, peanuts, soybeans, etc.) to a variety of fruits, including the mighty muscadine, which was first planted in 1970. The Paulk family has established a legacy in the muscadine industry, growing from that first vine to over 600 acres of muscadines and scuppernongs harvested for fresh produce sales, as well as processing into juices, jellies, supplements, and wine.
Innovation meets tradition when it comes to Paulk Vineyards: a rich farming heritage mixed with modern industry and technology. Healthy, fresh muscadines straight from the farm, combined with natural ingredients, are processed as simply as possible to ensure high quality products.
Here you’ll find fresh muscadines (available seasonally, in August and September), as well as food and beverage products made from the muscadines grown right here on our farm. Our Purple and White Muscadine Juices won the 2015 sand 2016 Flavor of Georgia contests. Our delicious Muscadine Jelly, Sauce, and Preserves are handcrafted in small batches just down the road by our friends at The Southern Mercantile. In 2017 we began making and bottling our own Muscadine Wines, named for couples in our family tree, and Juliette has already won the Georgia Trustees Wine Challenge!
If you’re looking for something that’s healthy, but still tastes good, that’s unique, yet familiar, you’ve come to the right place! Muscadines are “The Superfruit of the South,” and we’ve made it easy for you to enjoy them. Come on in, and make yourself at home!
How are you involved with your customers and community?
We welcome everyone to visit the genuine Georgia Grown estate-bottled family winery to experience genuine Southern hospitality and wine. We participate and sponsor many community and school activities and groups. Personally, I am a County Commissioner in Irwin County and serve as the Chair of our Irwin County Hospital Authority. My dad, Gary, serves as Chair on our Irwin County School Board. We also serve in multiple capacities in our church, Satilla Baptist Church. We will all live forever somewhere. We want to help folks live a full life here while we’re with them.
Tell us about your employees
Paulk Vineyards’ employees are like family. We hire the brightest and most driven men and women to help grow our muscadines, make our products, and serve our customers. And, they can’t wait to meet you!
What makes you excited to work here?
Muscadines run through my veins and are part of our family’s story. UGA just released their newest muscadine variety named… Paulk! I love helping our teammates live a better life. I love serving our customers and helping them add value to their lives and relationships. And, I get excited about the look on each person’s face the first time they try one of our wines, fruit, or other products that they fall in love with.
What do you like about your community and location?
Irwin County and Ocilla are home. We’ve farmed this land, and in this community, for 6 generations. Because of our, and our neighbors’ deep roots, we all want the best for each other. I like the ways we cheer each other on. I like the way we shop and support each other. And, I like the way we visit with each other to keep growing community amongst friends. And, I like the ways we welcome new friends into our community by inviting them to events, sharing as family, and pitching in when in need.
How do you embody Authentic Georgia?
Paulk Vineyards embodies Authentic Georgia in a number of ways… First, we’re building a business and brand in Georgia’s #1 industry, agriculture. Secondly, we’re growing Georgia’s native grape, muscadine grapes. And, lastly, we’re sharing Georgia’s most authentic characteristic, hospitality. That’s Authentic Georgia!
What makes Georgia so special and unique?
Georgia is on our mind all of the time. From the multiple generations before us who called Georgia home, to the growing number of locations around the state who retail our wines, Georgia and its people are our home and family.
