Farmer’s Daughter Vineyards
Stomped in Georgia
What motivates your company?
Georgia wine can be fantastic, and we’re determined to prove it. We work incredibly hard to grow and produce our award-winning wines in hopes that they will truly open eyes, create memorable experiences and help to enhance the perception of our region’s evolving winemaking capabilities. And when all is said and done, we hope to be successful enough to give back to our team, our loyal supporters and our surrounding communities

We are so blessed to operate a 3-generation farm in Mitchell County and a 4-year-old Tasting Room in historic Downtown Thomasville’s rejuvenated shopping and dining district. We’re the perfect area day trip and a convenient stop-over en route to the beautiful Florida panhandle beaches. Thomasville has it all, and we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of it!
Tell us a bit about your customers.
Our customers are as varied as our wine fleet, and we love it that way! Some are self-proclaimed ‘wine snobs’. Some are rookie wine-tasters or passionate foodies. Some appreciate the farm-to-table concept paired with attentive service. Some…a place with live original music on Friday nights or a place where kids are welcomed so you can just relax among friends.

We operate a 100-year-old farm where we produce traditional row crops such as cotton and peanuts… But back in 2012, we dreamed of diversifying with a little piece of acreage in Pelham, where Farmer’s Daughter was born. We named our little operation for our daughter, who might one day takeover, and we began planting wine grapes in 2014, with our first wines released in 2016 as we opened our Tasting Room doors.
How are you involved with your customers and community?
We might be a little too involved, ha. There’s not much time left for sleeping… I’ve become an advocate for under-appreciated Georgia farmers, for reducing our footprint and plastic use, for protecting everyone’s right to use all Florida beaches and for supporting the kindness-focused ideals of #LiveLikeLevi. We support all the causes we can, as we are nothing without the wonderful people who support us and the communities in which we thrive.
Tell us about your employees.
Farmer’s Daughter is a majority female-owned and operated business, with a crew of dynamic ladies at the helm, delivering incredible customer service and extensive product knowledge. On the farm side, we’re blessed with a hard-working crew of gentlemen who do everything from plant and harvest crops to crushing grapes and running the bottling line. We’re so grateful to them all!
What makes you excited to work here?
The wine business is FUN. The people are fun, the product is fun, and we’re surrounded by great customers in search of something special. We listen to our teammates, we welcome all ideas to the table, and we really try to reward hard work continually. If it’s not fun, why do it!?
What do you like about your community and location?
Thomasville—and South Georgia in general—is where everyone smiles, and your neighbors leave soup on your doorstep when you’re under the weather. Its where other parents look out for your kiddo, where people offer a helping hand… where you’re at the local gym with your internet tech, a city councilman, athletes, SAHMs and some farmer’s wife who makes wine. And you pretty much know everyone. We’re close to the beaches, we have zero traffic, and there’s SO MUCH to do!
How do you embody Authentic Georgia?
Goodness me. I hope we represent the kindness. I hope we inspire others to pursue their dreams, to support local every day (not just in theory). I hope we show people that we can do it all, but that we can’t do it without these incredible people around us who contribute so much greatness and in their own unique ways. We’re not a machine; we care about everyone who comes through our door. And we truly believe that is evident in everything we do. Come see us, so we can treat you like family, too!
What makes Georgia so special and unique?
Kindness prevails here. And we are not what people think we are. We are so much more! We are educated and driven and cultured and capable. We can grow anything. We are hard workers and helpers and salt of the earth good folks. Together we can be fearless and innovative. And as a collective, we sure do smile a lot.
